Job Description:
Based in Southern California with locations in Malibu,
Calabasas, Westlake Village and Camarillo; HRL has been on the
leading edge of technology, conducting pioneering research and
advancing the state of the artEssential Duties:
Generate and maintain Design, Simulate and/or conduct Experimental
Analysis of advanced electro-mechanical hardware assembliesGenerate
product make/buy drawings with associated KPI & GD&TReport and
present, both formally (via Design review presentations) and
informally (via technology interchange meetings and slide shows)
Mechanical Design and Analyses to Customers (internal and external)
as well as work with Key Stakeholders to optimize System
DesignMaintain project budget and schedule using an Integrated
Master Schedule (IMS.) Create and track device performance trends
as well manufacturing process effectiveness using SPC.
Lead a team from product inception to program closeout.
Candidate is expected to understand Infrared hardware from a MACRO
and MICRO perspectiveRequired Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Design and Manufacturing
environment, preferably with Infrared Devices.
Hands on experience working in R&D and Production laboratory
setting.
Strong background in precision alignment, chip interconnect, and
adhesive bondingCapital equipment procurement and Lab design
knowledge preferredExperience in Machine and/or Process
Qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ.) Experience with product reviews cycles
(IE PDR/CDR/MRR/HAR) with customers and suppliers.
Proficient with Solidworks, and developing and reading mechanical
drawings, technical writing for build history and test
reportingMust have knowledge of how PLM and MES software packages
are used and control processes related to the AS9100 Revision D
requirements.
General knowledge of GD&T is required and how it relates to
processing methodsKnowledge of Tool Design for specialized
processing methodsUnderstanding of MIL, ASTM, ASME, AWS, IPC, NASA
StandardsUnderstanding and use of Earned Value Metrics for tracking
of budget, task prioritization/scheduling, and resource
managementRequired Education:
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldPhysical
Requirements: Proficiency in use of computers, engineering
workstations.
Excellent verbal and written communication, and positive minded
interaction with customers/colleagues in a deadline-driven /
changing priority environmentMust be self-starting and
motivatedAbility to work in a cleanroom with appropriate PPEMust be
able to lift 25lbsSpecial Requirements: U.Scitizenship is
requiredAbility to obtain and maintain a clearance is
requiredCompensation: The base salary range for this full-time
position is $132,765 - $165,983 + bonus + benefitsOur salary ranges
