Job Description Ensures that all instruments, equipment and supplies are readily available, clean and in good working condition. Accurately sets up sterile field and ensures that extra supplies are readily accessible. Passes instruments in a safe and efficient manner. Performs required sponge, needle, and instrument counts. Ensures that procedure consented for is the procedure prepared for. Assists with the orientation and training of new staff. Maintains equipment and assesses supplies based on PAR levels to ensure adequate inventory. Informs charge nurse and/or Director of any problems with equipment. Ensures that sterile supplies are properly rotated, removed and replaced. Maintains the cleanliness of the OR corridor. Transports patients as needed.
